About
Our Philosophy
At Longfield Tigers FC, we believe grassroots football is about more than just winning games – it’s about developing players, fostering teamwork, and creating an environment where everyone can enjoy the game. Established in 1972, our club has a proud history of nurturing young talent, helping players grow in confidence, skill, and sportsmanship.
Our focus is on:
-
Putting players first – every individual matters.
-
Making football fun, safe, and inclusive for all.
-
Helping players develop both on and off the pitch.
-
Encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and tactical awareness.
We want every player to feel valued, supported, and motivated to reach their full potential while enjoying the beautiful game.
A Club Built on Community Support
Longfield Tigers FC is proud to be a self-funded grassroots club, offering football without registration fees or monthly subs. This approach sets us apart and helps ensure that all children have the opportunity to play, regardless of background.
To make this possible, we rely entirely on fundraising, sponsorships, community support, and our 100 Club. Events such as our golf days, quiz nights, and Christmas fairs bring people together while helping to cover the essential running costs of the club — including kits, pitch hire, referee fees, and training facilities.
A vital part of this support comes from the 100 Club — a monthly lottery that directly funds the day-to-day running of Longfield Tigers FC. With a small monthly contribution, members are entered into a draw to win cash prizes, while also making a real and lasting difference to the club.
While not compulsory, the vast majority of parents and guardians at the club are already part of the 100 Club, and we strongly encourage all families to get involved. This small monthly contribution goes a long way in supporting the club and costs significantly less than the regular fees charged by most other youth football clubs.
Being part of Longfield Tigers FC means more than just playing the game — it’s about belonging to a community that works together to give young players the chance to grow, develop, and enjoy the sport they love. By supporting the 100 Club or taking part in fundraising activities, you’re playing a vital role in the future of our club.
