Longfield Tigers FC Golf Day 2025: Another Fantastic Success at Chelsfield Lakes
Our annual Longfield Tigers FC Golf Day returned in May 2025 – and once again, it was a huge success! Held at the brilliant Chelsfield Lakes Golf Centre, this much-loved event brought together over 90 players and supporters for a day of friendly competition, laughter, and fundraising in support of our self-funded club.
With a shotgun start and teams playing in four balls, the day kicked off with tea, coffee, and bacon rolls before heading out for 18 holes of Stapleford competition.
The Format
- 18 Hole Stapleford Competition (Team and Individual formats)
- Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin challenges
- One-course meal served after the round
Prizes Awarded
Team Event:
- Team Winners (based on the top 3 Stapleford scores from each four-ball)
Individual Event:
- Winner of the Day
- Runner Up
- Guest Winner
A Fun Twist – The Token Challenge
To inject some extra fun (and fundraising), each team was given 3 paper tokens at the start of the round. These were passed between players based on key moments:
- Last player to make 3 putts
- Last player to lose a ball
- Last player to land in a bunker
At the end of the round, any player holding a token was kindly asked to make a £5 penalty donation per token – a light-hearted way to raise additional funds for the club.
A Huge Result for the Club
Thanks to everyone’s incredible generosity and support, this year’s Golf Day raised an amazing £4,952.00. These funds go directly toward essential running costs – including kits, equipment, pitch hire, and referee payments – helping us keep football free and accessible for all young players at Longfield Tigers FC.
A massive thank you to everyone who attended, donated, or helped organise the day. Your support makes a real difference — and we can’t wait to see you again next year!
