Thank You, Mike Vosper: A True Longfield Tigers Legend

After decades of unwavering dedication and service, Mike Vosper is stepping down from his role as Club Secretary at Longfield Tigers FC — marking the end of an incredible era in the club’s history.

Mike’s journey with Longfield Tigers began when his son — now 50 — first pulled on the club’s colours as a young player. Like many grassroots stories, it started with simply helping out. From running errands and supporting matchdays to eventually taking on the full responsibilities of Club Secretary, Mike’s role grew with the club — and for the best part of 20 years, he has been at the heart of everything Longfield Tigers stands for.

From fixtures and kit to safeguarding, registration, and policies, Mike has been the steady hand that has kept the club running behind the scenes. His work has helped ensure hundreds of local children have enjoyed access to free, safe, and structured football over the years — and his impact has been truly immeasurable.

While Mike is stepping back from his formal position, we’re proud to share that he’ll remain involved in an advisory capacity, supporting the newly elected Club Secretary, Laura Marchant, as she steps into the role. Mike’s experience and guidance will no doubt continue to shape the club for years to come.

At the 2024/25 end-of-season presentation, Mike was rightly celebrated by players, parents, coaches, and committee members. He was presented with a signed Longfield Tigers shirt as a small token of our appreciation for everything he has done.

To further mark the occasion, a celebratory meal was held at Efsane, who generously subsidised the evening and have long been proud sponsors of the club. The evening was a fitting tribute to a man whose passion and dedication have left a lasting legacy across every age group, every team, and every season.

From everyone at Longfield Tigers FC — thank you, Mike. Your loyalty, commitment, and hard work will never be forgotten. You will always be part of the Tigers family.
