U7 Challenge Cup Final – 2026

Sunday 26th April 2026 saw our Longfield Tigers U7s take to the pitch for the Challenge Cup Final against a strong Riverview side in what proved to be a thrilling and closely contested match.

Both teams played some excellent football throughout, creating chances and producing plenty of end-to-end action for the spectators to enjoy. The Tigers started brightly and took the lead in the first half thanks to two superb goals from Jake Howell.

Longfield continued to press and were unlucky not to extend their advantage, with Ollie O’Donovan striking the post and the Riverview goalkeeper making several impressive saves to keep the game finely balanced. At half-time, the Tigers held a narrow 2-1 lead.

An equaliser in the third quarter set up a tense and exciting final period, with both teams battling hard in search of the winning goal. Despite a tremendous effort from the Tigers, Riverview managed to find the decisive goal, with the match finishing 3-2.

While the result didn’t quite go our way, the players should be incredibly proud of their performance, commitment, and teamwork. Reaching a cup final is a fantastic achievement and caps off a brilliant season for a group of players enjoying their very first year wearing the famous green and black shirt. 💚🖤
